We have had the pleasure of a visit from Animal Care, a local charity that rescues and re-homes abandoned or unwanted pets in the area. Michael very kindly came into the nursery to talk with the preschool children about the work Animal Care do. This included a child friendly presentation on the condition some animals arrive into the Animal Care and the care they are given before being re-homed. The children also learned about how to look after their pets showing examples of food, toys and bedding pets require in the home, along with activities the children could participate in.
The star of the day was ‘Buddy’ the Border Collie who was handed over to Animal Care as the owners couldn’t afford his medical needs. Buddy has long term health problems that require a lot of veterinary care that are quite costly, Buddy is now in the loving hands of Michael who works for Animal Care and takes Buddy with him on educational visits to schools and nurseries.
