On Friday 14th June 2019 we had a visit from Fred Ayres the Chairman of Lune Valley Community Beekeepers, who very kindly gave a talk to the preschool children about bees, which included showing the children pictures about bees and their honeycombs.

Fred also brought with him an observation hive with some live bees in with a honeycomb for the children to get a closer look at. The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit especially looking at the live bees.

We would like to thank Fred Ayres for taking the time to come and speak with the children and for bringing the observation hive.

Lune Valley Community Beekeepers have a wild flower meadow on the Nazareth House grounds as well as beehives and will be having an Open Day on Saturday 13th July, for more information they can be contacted on 01524 811978.
